Euro zone Aug PPI up 0.1 pct from July, up 5.7 yr-on-yr

Euro zone producer prices rose 0.1 pct in August from July, and were up 5.7 pct year-on-year, EU statistics office Eurostat said. Eurostat revised the July PPI upwards to a rise of 0.7 pct from June and a year-on-year increase of 6.0 pct. The original July estimates were for increases of 0.6 pct and 5.9 pct respectively. For August, economists polled by AFX News had forecast a month-on-month rise of 0.2 pct and an increase of 5.7 pct from a year earlier.
