Euro zone Sept manufacturing PMI 56.6, unchanged from Aug
The euro zone manufacturing sector continued to grow at a fairly steady rate during September, sources said of a key survey. They said the purchasing managers index for the manufacturing sector was unchanged at 56.6. August's reading was revised up slightly from 56.5. Analysts polled by AFX News had predicted a modest dip to 56.4 from the original estimate. A reading above 50 denotes growth. A more detailed look at the data shows that the new orders sub-index rose to 58.4 in September from 57.7 in August, and export orders increased to 56.4 from 55.7. Meanwhile, the employment component rose to 52.3 from 51.9. The survey also showed inflation pressures rising, with the input prices component up to 69.3 from 68.7 and output prices rising to 56.0 from 55.2.
