Eurozone CPI increases slightly
Consumer price index for the countries taking part in the European Monetary Union has risen 0.1% in July according with data released by the Eurostat Agency.
The figures came to meet the experts expectations. In relation with the Year-on Year index, it grew 2.3% a bit lower than the 2.4% growth of July, this is the second consecutive month to register decreasing numbers in the annual CPI.
The reasons for this slowing pace in prices are to be search on the decreasing energy prices, although they rose 0.1% in the month, the annual increasing rate of energy prices slowed to 8.1% in August from 9.5% in July and 11.0% in June.
