German Aug final CPI down 0.1 pct from July, up 1.7 pct yr-on-yr

Consumer prices in August were down 0.1 pct from July but up 1.7 pct year-on-year, according to final figures from the Federal Statistics office, confirming the preliminary figures published last month.
Economists polled by AFX News had forecast a month-on-month drop of 0.1 pct and a year-on-year rise of 1.8 pct.
The harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) for Germany fell 0.1 pct in August from July but was up 1.8 pct year-on-year, revising the preliminary HICP data released last month.
The office previously had reported the HICP was unchanged in August from July and was 1.9 pct higher year-on-year, which were the figures forecast by analysts as well.
